Your first few minutes here.

Your first few minutes here.

From your beta invitation to your first conversation, here’s how to settle into Idlebay.

Two invitations. Two different jobs.

BEFORE YOU SIGN IN

Beta account invitation

Use this code when creating your Idlebay account. Ask the person who invited you for it. Downloading the app does not grant beta access.

AFTER YOU SIGN IN

Community invitation

Use Join with invite inside the app to join a community. This does not replace the account invitation needed to create a new beta account.

Already have an account from an earlier version? Sign in with that account. You do not need to register again.

01 / Install and sign in

Download the Windows 64-bit installer. Close Idlebay if it is running, then follow setup. Sign in, or create an account with your beta account invitation.

Keep your invitation private. If a code fails, check with the person who sent it rather than posting it in a public chat.

02 / Choose your boundaries

Open Safety → Contact & privacy. Review friend requests, direct calls, private-group invitations and activity visibility. Choose the options you are comfortable with and save your changes.

Under Account security, you can enable an authenticator. Store recovery codes privately outside the app. Explore the safety controls.

03 / Find a familiar face

In Messages, choose Add a friend and enter their unique username. Direct messages become available after they accept. Review incoming requests in Safety → Requests.

To join a community, use its invitation inside the app or browse publicly listed communities in Explore. Read the community rules before posting.

04 / Make time together

Join a community voice room when you are ready to talk. Check your microphone and selected device first. Before sharing your screen, close private windows and hide notifications you do not want others to see.

Use Gatherings for plans and Keeps for messages you want to find again.

If something gets in the way

Check the troubleshooting answers, or find the right support route. If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can block them and report the relevant content separately.
